GST Calculator
Add or remove GST from any amount. Supports all Indian GST slabs.
GST (Goods and Services Tax) was introduced in India on July 1, 2017, replacing a complex web of central and state taxes with a unified indirect tax system. Whether you are a business owner, freelancer, or consumer, the GST calculator helps you instantly compute the GST amount to add to a base price or extract from an inclusive price — saving time and eliminating calculation errors.
📋 How to Use This Calculator
Select the mode — "Add GST" (to calculate the final consumer price from the base price) or "Remove GST" (to find the original base price from a GST-inclusive amount). Choose your GST rate: 0%, 0.1%, 3%, 5%, 12%, 18%, or 28%. Enter the amount and instantly see the CGST, SGST (for intra-state transactions), or IGST (for inter-state) breakdown, and the final price. For example, a ₹1,000 product with 18% GST becomes ₹1,180 (₹90 CGST + ₹90 SGST).
💡 Key Facts & Information
GST in India operates on a dual structure: CGST (Central GST) and SGST (State GST) for intra-state supplies, each at half the applicable rate, and IGST (Integrated GST) for inter-state supplies at the full rate. The five main GST rate slabs in India are 0% (essential food items, fresh vegetables), 5% (packaged foods, economy hotels), 12% (processed foods, business class hotels), 18% (most services including IT services, restaurants, most goods), and 28% (luxury items, automobiles, tobacco). The 3% rate applies to gold and jewellery. 0.1% applies to certain diamond exports. Businesses with turnover above ₹40 lakh (₹20 lakh for services) must register for GST.
