The brick calculator determines how many bricks are needed for walls, rooms, or entire buildings — accounting for mortar joints, wall thickness, openings (doors and windows), and wastage. It also calculates the quantity of mortar (cement and sand) required for bricklaying. Getting brick estimates right prevents mid-project material shortages and budget overruns, which are among the most common construction delays in India.

📋 How to Use This Calculator

Enter wall dimensions (length and height), select wall thickness (half-brick at 4.5 inches, one-brick at 9 inches, or one-and-a-half brick at 13.5 inches), and brick size (standard Indian modular brick 190×90×90mm or older 230×115×75mm). Deduct area for doors and windows. The calculator shows total bricks needed, mortar quantity (cement and sand), and current cost estimate.

One-brick wall (200mm thick) = 100 bricks/m². Mortar for 1 m³ of brickwork (1:6 ratio): cement 220 kg (4.4 bags), sand 0.92 m³. Wastage: 5–10% for standard work, 10–15% for corners and irregular shapes. Brick prices (2024): standard red clay bricks ₹6–12 each. Fly ash bricks: ₹5–9 each. AAC blocks: ₹50–90 per block.
